Job Responsibilities:

• Cleaning & Sanitation:
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment by sweeping, mopping, and cleaning workstations, floors, windows, and restrooms.
  • Ensure the bakery is sanitized regularly, following proper health and safety guidelines.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and baking tools as directed, and ensure proper storage.
  • Dispose of trash, recycling, and waste in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stocking & Inventory Support:
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and restocking shelves, refrigerators, and storage areas.
  • Help maintain inventory levels by ensuring supplies are well-organized and readily available for use.
  • Ensure that perishable goods are properly stored and rotated, following the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
• General Maintenance:
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down workstations.
  • Ensure that the bakery’s external areas (e.g., parking lot, sidewalks) are clean and free of debris.
  • Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the store manager.
• Customer Support:
  • Assist with carrying heavy items or supplies as needed to support the bakery team.
  • Help prepare orders for delivery or pickup, ensuring that products are properly packed and organized.
  • Provide support to staff during busy hours by maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all cleaning materials are handled and stored according to safety regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for both staff and customers.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel immediately.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a cleaning, maintenance, or porter role is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with cleaning and safety standards is a bonus.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and perform physical tasks.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well with the team.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Must be able to carry and move bakery supplies and products when necessary.
