From humble beginnings to a cherished local brand, Cake Chef Companies has been a cornerstone of Staten Island’s sweet tooth for over three decades. Founded by James and Maria Carrozza, Cake Chef started as a small bakery on Jewett Avenue in 1988. What began as a single bakery has blossomed into five beloved locations: The Cake Chef, Coffee & Collectibles, Cookie Jar Forest, Cookie Jar New Dorp, and Piece A Cake. Each shop reflects our passion for creating high-quality, handcrafted baked goods that bring joy to every customer. Through dedication and hard work, we’ve grown into a family of bakeries that Staten Islanders trust and love.
Meet the Cake Chef Family
James and Maria Carrozza are the dynamic duo behind Cake Chef Companies. James, a self-taught baker with a lifelong passion for pastries, honed his craft from a young age, working in bakeries across Brooklyn before opening his own. Maria, with a background in Travel and Tourism, brought her business acumen and creativity to the mix, helping to shape the brand and expand the business. Together, they’ve cultivated a brand known for its commitment to quality, creativity, and community. Their sons, Salvatore and Armando, have joined the family business, ensuring that the Cake Chef legacy continues.

Cake Chef Companies proudly serves Staten Island with five unique locations: The Cake Chef on Jewett Avenue for custom cakes and pastries, Cookie Jar on Forest Avenue and New Dorp Lane for over 150 handmade cookie varieties, Piece A Cake on New Dorp Lane for bakery and café delights, and Coffee & Collectibles on Victory Boulevard, where you can enjoy coffee, pastries, and browse unique antiques.
