Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bakery Store Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, excellent customer service skills, and strong management abilities to ensure smooth operations, product quality, and a great experience for both customers and employees. As a Bakery Store Manager, you will be responsible for managing the store’s staff, orders, and  inventory, while maintaining high standards for cleanliness, safety, and product quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Staff Management:
    • Supervise, train, and motivate bakery staff to ensure efficient operations.
    • Schedule shifts, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.
    • Resolve any staff conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Operations & Customer Service:
    • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the bakery, including overseeing baking schedules and production levels.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns, managing inquiries, and ensuring a pleasant in-store experience.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for both employees and customers.
  • Inventory & Product Management:
    • Oversee inventory levels, ensuring the bakery is adequately stocked with ingredients, packaging materials, and products.
    • Monitor product quality and freshness to ensure the highest standards.
    • Place orders for supplies and ingredients, negotiating with vendors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
    • Manage waste and ensure proper product rotation to minimize losses.
  • Sales & Marketing:
    • Monitor sales goals and performance, developing strategies to increase revenue and customer retention.
    • Implement promotional campaigns and seasonal specials to boost business.
    • Stay updated on current food trends and customer preferences to introduce new products.
  • Financial Management:
    • Monitor and manage store budgets, control expenses, and ensure profitability.
    • Handle cash management, including daily cash reports.
    • Assist with forecasting, setting financial goals, and achieving store targets.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure the bakery complies with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
    • Train staff on food safety and workplace safety procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure proper food handling and cleanliness at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in business or related field is a plus).
    • Proven experience in bakery management, retail management, or a similar role.
    • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality setting is preferred.
    • Knowledge of bakery operations, food production, and inventory management.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.
    • Solid organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficiency in basic financial management.
    • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to handle and work with hot kitchen equipment and ovens.
