Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Baker to join our team and produce a variety of high-quality baked goods for our bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering delicious, freshly made products to our customers. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing, mixing, baking, and decorating bread, pastries, and other baked goods, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Baking & Production:
    • Prepare and bake a variety of products such as breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and other baked goods according to recipes.
    • Measure and mix ingredients, ensuring precise adherence to recipes and maintaining consistent quality.
    • Monitor the baking process to ensure products are cooked to perfection and maintain a high standard of taste and appearance.
    • Complete cakes, cookies, and other pastries as needed, ensuring a professional and appealing finish.
  • Inventory & Ingredient Management:
    • Ensure that all baking ingredients and supplies are well-stocked and properly stored.
    • Follow proper inventory management protocols to avoid shortages or excess.
    • Assist with ordering ingredients and supplies when necessary.
  • Kitchen Organization & Cleanliness:
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
    • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces throughout the day.
    • Follow strict safety protocols when handling kitchen equipment, ovens, and hot surfaces.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure that all baked goods are consistently fresh, visually appealing, and meet high-quality standards.
    • Adjust recipes and baking methods based on customer preferences or feedback.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork:
    • Work closely with other bakers, cake decorators, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of orders.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure that production goals are met and deadlines are adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (formal culinary training or certification is a plus).
    • Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef, or in a similar role in a bakery or food production setting.
    • Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and health codes.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, recipe formulation, and ingredient handling.
    • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality baked goods.
    • Ability to follow recipes accurately and make adjustments as needed.
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to lift heavy bags of flour or other ingredients, and handle kitchen equipment.
    • Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment, often under time constraints.
